In addition, Cindy was assigned for two years to lead the human resources component of an enormous business process redesign effort for Exxon Chemicals. This global best practices activity was carried out in 33 chemical plants around the world. It included significant challenges in change management: converting change resistance into enthusiastic support in the plants, quantifying a serious future staffing problem, defining skill sets for the technicians for the new millennium, and creating on-line training capability. Since forming Conscious Pursuits, Inc., Cindy's most recent major consulting project was with The Methodist Hospital, a world class hospital network. Her work with the Vice President of Spiritual Care and Values Integration resulted in implementation of a network-wide values integration program with the stated objective of creating a "spiritual environment of caring." Cindy's contribution included developing the overall plan, establishing the measurement methodology and co-designing and implementing a values class for Methodist's 9,000 employees. Methodist's overall efforts to create a "spiritual environment of caring" earned them the 2002 Willis Harman Spirit at Work award. Cindy's spiritual foundation comes from a lifetime study of philosophy, psychology, religion and related sciences. Her latest studies have included Jungian Psychology, the science of consciousness, quantum physics and the major world religions. With a personal library of over 800 books, she can always be found with a book nearby and educational audiotapes in the car! She has gained a reputation as an expert in the field of "spirit at work" and speaks regularly on the subject, most recently at the 2003 Spirit in Business Conference and the 2003 Business and Consciousness Conference. Cindy is Chair of the Selection Committee for the 2003 Willis Harman Spirit at Work Awards and is a member of the Association for Spirit at Work (www.spiritatwork.com ). She is also a founding member of Spirit in Business (www.spiritinbusiness.com ). With Larry Stockman she co-authored (as Cynthia S. Graves) "Grown-Up Children Who Won't Grow Up." Cindy holds dual Bachelors of Art in English and Education (magna cum laude) and a Masters of Art in Political Science (3.8 GPA) from Duke University.
